Our Story Unfolded

ADDI Home of Grace:

,It all began in 2020 with Grace, a young teenager that became pregnant when her family attempted to force her into early marriage in exchange for financial benefit during the Covid 19 pandemic. So she ran away, therefore she was ostracized by the community and disowned by her family. She came to Victor and Christine Tukakira's church in Kabale, Uganda asking for help. They opened their home to her and that is how this project began. At one point they had 9 pregnant teenagers and their babies living in their home, more and more young women in need kept showing up. At this point they sacrificed and sold a small business they had to be able to afford to rent a facility to be able to help more young women. Currently they are supporting 105 women and their children. The women are fed, taught skills, (sewing, hair design,nails, basket weaving, leather works and cooking) and since most of them attempted suicide and aborting their baby, they also receive weekly emotional counseling.
